A Small Double Buggy That's Easy to Push One-Handed and Carry Up and Down Stairs
This is the double stroller you need if you want a lightweight, easy-to-push one-handed stroller. It's also simple to carry up and down the stairs.
It has two fixed seats and can be configured with the possibility of up to 30 seating configurations (including a triple!). Both seats have UPF 50+ canopy that has windows that can be seen from a distance.
Size
The Joovy Kooper X2 double stroller is a side-by side double stroller. It can accommodate two children up to 50 pounds. Its seats are larger bigger than those of other strollers with lightweight designs and the canopy has large SPF 50 sunshades that have peekaboo windows. Other features that are important include a self-standing basket with the capacity of 25lbs, cup holders for one parent and bars that swing away to help children get in and out of their seats. This is a great choice for urban and suburban families. It also comes with two kits that include a newborn wedgie that allows for an optimum lie-flat position.
Weight
The weight of a double buggy is one the key factors that will determine the ease to push. A lighter buggy is simpler to lift and carry, but may not have enough suspension to withstand bumps and uneven terrain.
The majority of double buggies have a maximum weight per seat, and some have overall frame limits and it's important to check the details of each model prior to making a purchase. Some also fold with seats removed to make them even smaller and lighter this can be beneficial if storage space is at the limit.
Tri-fold doubles are generally the lightest models, as they require only one hand to lift the back and lower sections. They are also smaller than side by side buggies and are able to fit through most doors. The iCandy Geo 3 is one of the lightest trifold doubles on the market, and can comfortably accommodate twins or a toddler and baby.
Tandem buggies are great for families that are growing because they begin as a single stroller, but can be adapted to include a second child or car seat, or carrycot. Some, like the iCandy Orange, offer over 30 seating options, so they can grow with your family until three children. They are generally heavier than tri-fold doubles, however they're usually easier to move between kerbs due to the weight being distributed more evenly.
Folding
The best small double buggies fold easily and can be folded in a matter of seconds. Our Lab experts appreciate this feature because it lets them to fit the buggies into the back of their car and also save storage space when they are not in use. For example the Joovy Kooper X2 has straps on each seat that pull up, and the whole thing folds down. it's a trifold, which even our oldest testers could accomplish with just one hand.
The light Delta Children LX Side by Side is a good alternative for a compact double buggie. Its lightness is a plus but so are the features it comes with big pop-out canopy that include SPF 50 protection and a peekaboo window; swing-away bars to help children get into and out of seats; and reclined chairs and leg rests designed for toddlers.
Manoeuvrability
When selecting a compact double stroller, you need to think about its maneuverability. This includes how easy it is for both children to be able to ride in the buggy. Some pushchairs, such as the iCandy Orange with its 'cinema seating' (where the back seat is elevated) are more efficient at this than others.
Buggies with narrow tandems can be good at this as can side-byside designs. Buggies with this type of design can be a bit longer and could be difficult to navigate through doors.

The UPPAbaby Vista 2 is an excellent example of this, since it's a small pushchair that allows two seats to be added as well as the most important thing is an 'piggyback'-style board that can carry a third child.
Other smaller, three-wheeled models like the phil&teds dot also incredibly agile, especially with its clever 'dot kit which transforms it into an inline buggie. It comes with two seating arrangements for children of various age groups and the front seat can be rotated to face the parents to create more intimate bonding. It also has a great storage basket that is easy to fold. This is a great option for families with growing children.
